My guess would be that it steps down to conserve battery… 300 lumens shouldn’t generate that much heat…
Whats that light give you ? Like 20 feet of vision?
There is a NU20 with a head band as well, which I prefer.
Doesn’t have orange led light
I own the nu 20 classic and th nu 25ul like you and I much prefer the 25 ul. I bring them both on all trips so I have a back up.
The flood and spot light combo on the nu 25 makes it much easier to navigate the bush at night, and being able to switch between the two I find very useful too. I see the latest version of the nu 25 has done away with that feature, which is disappointing.
Apart from the looks the only thing I prefer on the classic is that the red light has a high and low setting.
